You made a song with Suno (or Udio, or another AI music tool). It sounds great. Now you want it on Spotify, Apple Music, and everywhere else — and you've just discovered that "upload the MP3 Suno gave me" isn't quite the whole story.
Here's everything that sits between your AI-generated track and a professional release, and how to handle all of it in about sixty seconds.
The three problems with a raw Suno download
1. Distributors want WAV, not MP3
You can't upload directly to Spotify — you go through a distributor like DistroKid, TuneCore, CD Baby, or Amuse. Their preferred (and sometimes required) delivery format is 16-bit, 44.1 kHz stereo WAV. Suno hands you an MP3 on most plans.
Some distributors do accept MP3 uploads — but then they transcode your already-compressed MP3 again for each streaming platform. Compressing compressed audio is where artifacts creep in: smeared cymbals, swishy highs, a slightly underwater feel. Converting your MP3 to WAV first means exactly one generation of lossy encoding ever touches your track, and your upload sails through every distributor's file check.

2. Streaming platforms normalize loudness — to about -14 LUFS
Spotify, Apple Music, and YouTube Music all adjust every track to a target loudness so listeners don't get blasted between songs. Spotify's reference level is approximately -14 LUFS.
Why this matters for AI music: Suno's output loudness varies from generation to generation. If your track is much louder than -14 LUFS, Spotify simply turns it down — you gained nothing, and any limiting baked into that loudness stays as lost dynamics. If it's much quieter, it plays weak next to everything else on the playlist. Mastering to the target means your song plays at exactly the level the platform wants, with its dynamics intact.
3. AI songs end like they hit a wall
Anyone who has generated more than a few Suno tracks knows the ending problem: the song just stops, sometimes mid-bar, sometimes with an awkward stutter. On a playlist, that abrupt cliff is the clearest "this is AI-generated" tell there is.
A smooth 5–8 second fade-out fixes it completely — the track lands softly like a produced record instead of falling off a cliff.
The 60-second fix for all three

A note on trickier tracks
If your music is bass-heavy or uses breathy acoustic textures — deep percussion, sub-heavy electronic, flutes, strings — be extra careful with any "cleanup" processing, ours included. Automated analyzers tuned for voice will read a kick drum's sub energy as "rumble" and a flute's breathiness as "noise." Quick answers
Do I own Suno songs enough to distribute them? Check your Suno plan's terms — commercial use generally requires a paid subscription. That part is between you and Suno; the audio pipeline is what we solve here.
Won't converting MP3 to WAV improve the sound? No — and nobody honest will tell you otherwise. Conversion can't restore what MP3 compression discarded. What it does is prevent further loss in the distributor's transcoding chain and satisfy their format requirements.
What about Udio, Riffusion, or other generators? Identical workflow. Every AI music tool has the same three gaps: compressed output, unmanaged loudness, abrupt endings.
Is -14 LUFS right for every platform? It's the best single target. Apple Music uses -16, YouTube about -14; the differences are small enough that a -14 LUFS master with -1 dB true peak plays well everywhere.
